Rio Plata

Hace ya muchos dias que intentabamos remar el rio Plata, después de 2 intentos fallidos a causa de un nível demasiado bajo y alto ayer fue el gran dia.
Nos despertamos temprano por la mañana y nos reunímos con los Piscoleros, Juanjo, LJ, Todd y Jared. Al poco rato estábamos de camino. El rio Plata es un precioso río muy cercano a Pucón que desemboca directamente en el Lago Villarica. Para llegar a la entrada del rio hay que andar durante un buen rato hasta llegar a lo alto del cerro, una vez desde allí hay que encontrar la entrada al cañon... está es quizá la parte más difícil ya que hay que descender y descender por una selva de bambú y zarzamora hasta llegar al rio.

After many days trying to paddle the river Plata, without get It because of a high or a low water level, yesterday we had luck and did It finally!
We woke up early In the morning and met with the Piscoleros, Juanjo, LJ, Todd y Jared "Diablito". The plata Is a really beautiful river near Pucón and ends In the Villarica Lake. Get to the Put In Is hard and you have to walk a long way, once you are In the top of the mountain you have to find a way down In to the jungle of bamboo to the river.

Cúando finalmente llegámos hasta el río nos dimos cuenta de que el nível era más bajo de lo esperado... sin posibilidad de salirnos del rio al estar en un cañon más que profundo decidímos correrlo al tiro!

When finally we got inside the river we found a low water level, there wasn't any possibilitie to get out of the deep canyon so we ran It immediatly!

El Plata tiene una fria agua cristalina bebible sin problemas casi como todos los rios en Chile!
Los primeros 1/2 km son flojitos pero de repente el rio se encañona más y más y se convierte en un bonito clase V. Qué incluyé unos buenos drops y slides.

When you do get to the river the water is crystal clear, cold and drinkable without a filter. The first 1/2 KM may be scrappy but then the V action picks up with 2.5 KM that includes numerous falls and big drops.
