Last weeks have been a great freestyle training, after met with my brother Gerd coming back from his trip to the U.S.A where he has been working in the Jackson Kayak factory.

| Happy brothers! We set our base in Sort where we can kayak everyday and get in shape for the upcoming events and missions, there’s 2 holes, the second one becomes a great wave with eddy service just 5 minutes walking from the house, but needs way more water than what we have now, hope the god of the water bless us with heavy rains and hot weather so all the snow becomes water. |

Estas últimas semanas han sido un muy buen entreno de freestyle, después de encontrarme con mi hermano Gerd que volvía de su viaje a los estados unidos donde ha estado trabajando en la fabrica de jackson kayak. Establecimos nuestra base en Sort, donde podemos remar cada dia y pillar la forma para todo lo que se viene! Tenemos 2 rulos, el segundo se convierte en una ola perfecta, con una contra perfecta a solo 5 minutos andando de nuestra casa, pero necesita mucha más agua de la que hay ahora mismo. Deseando que el dios del agua nos bendiga con fuertes lluvias y altas temperaturas para un pronto deshielo. |

After a few easy days paddling In sort, we then moved to Pau, where the first competition of the FKT was held. An incredible slalom chanel with great eddies, lots of cool water moves and a strange and difficult spot.

Después de unos agradables y tranquilos dias en Sort, nos movimos hacia Pau, donde acogían la primera competición del Free Kayak Tour (circuito francés de freestyle). Un campo de slalom increíble, con contras buenísimas, divertidos movimentos de agua, fondo suficiente y un peculiar y difícil rulo.

La competición de freestyle nos fue muy bien, con muy buenas rondas en el primer día, un agradable encuentro con los miembros del Pek y con otros locos franceses. El border cross estuvo genial pasando ambos a la siguiente ronda sin problemas.

Freestyle competition went great with good rides on the first day, good meeting with PEK members and the crazy frenchies. Border cross went sweet aswell passing both to the next round with no problems.

Desmadre francés por la noche con una muy buena fiesta en la ciudad de Pau.
El dia siguiente fue muy duro, con una dura resaca y mucho cansancio, de todos modos lo dimos todo en las finales!

Next day was a hard one, hangover was there and we were all tired, anyway we gived everything! Gerd won the border cross, followed by me.

Freestyle competition was great, Quentin placed 1st, Debred 2nd and Gerd 3rd (super solid paddling during all the week-end, and a few points away from the first place).

En Freestyle, Quentin 1ro, Debred 2do y Gerd 3ro (aún estar remando muy bien durante todo el fin de semana, con mangas muy sólidas y regulares, se quedo a unos pocos puntos del primero).

Estoy contento de estar otra vez remando con el bote de freestyle después de tanto tiempo, pero tengo ya muchas ganas de agarrar el bote de creek y largarme a explorar algún sitio nuevo, correr una buena cascada o simplemente pasar el dia bajando un buen rio con los colegas!
