Expression Session, Sort.

Some weeks ago we had an expression session in our new hole In Sort. Consists on a normal session, where you try to give your best, then the same paddlers judge who was the best paddler of the session. A lot of people came during all the afternoon,and we had the opportunity to show freestyle kayak to many people that don't know a shit about it.



El pasado mes de mayo se disputó en el nuevo rulo de Sort el Expression Session. Se trata de hacer una sesión como de entreno intentando dar el mayor espectáculo. Al acabar los palistas se votan entre ellos y se elíge al ganador! Mucha gente se pasó ese dia por la tarde, tuvimos la oportunidad de enseñar lo que es el rodeo a mucha gente que lo desconoce totalmente.

In the end I got first, Oriol Colomé was second and Pau Clotet was third. With girls Yus took the 1st place followed by Rossa and Ali.

Al final quedé primero, Oriol Colomé fué segundo y tercero Pau Clotet. En chicas Jus agarró la primera plaza seguída de Rossa y Ali.

Here we go again!!!

Spring is here!! After some really shitty weeks of rain, cold and snow the sun is finally shinning in the valley of the Noguera Pallaresa and now we can start paddling the best rivers of the area. We already paddled some of the classics, the Upper Noguera and Palomeres. And also I gave a try at Romadriu drop 1st D. by my brother gerd some years ago and untouched since then , guess I know why.... We already discovered a few 1st D that have been always therem, but really scary to go, we'll see If we have enough water to run some of them. But the thing we have been doing more is freestyle In our 2 new spots In our village Sort. The holes work perfect and they're probably one of the best spots In europe. At high floods the 2nd wave becomes a sick wave!

Millau, Spanish freestyle cup

La primavera ya está aquí! Después de un par de semanas agonizantes de lluvía, frío y nieve por fin a salido el sol en la comarca del Pallars y podemos empezar a disfrutar de los rios de la zona. Hemos estado remando los clasícos, el Alto Noguera y el Palomeres. También le dí un intento al salto del Romadriu, corrído por primera vez por mi hermano Gerd y Juanjo hace un par de años y sin volver a correrse desde entonces, me parece que se porqué... Pero sobretodo hemos estado remando hasta morir en los 2 nuevos rulos de Sort, el rulo de arriba funciona con todos los níveles hasta con ecológico y el de abajo se convierte en una ola muy tocha con harta agua y en un rulo muy entretenido en nível medio. Próximamente con el team Rocroi nos íremos de viaje durante una semanita en busca de buenos rios!!

Spanish Freestyle Cup, Millau

Days 17 and 18 of April we celebrated the second spanish freestyle Cup in Millau, France. The thing that we don't have any spot in good conditions to hold an event like this make us leave to Millau, where they have a perfect slalom camp with many holes.

Este 17 y 18 de Abril se celebró la Copa de España de estilo libre en Millau, Francía. El echó de no tener un sitio adecuado permanentemente en España y las buenas instalaciones de Millau justifican que emigremos a Francia para disputar nuestra Copa de España.

Todo empezó justo acabar mi turno en Roc-Roi, donde he estado trabajando desde que llegué.

Marchamos con Lluís, Judith y las niñas al mediodia. Llegámos a Millau demasiado tarde para remar.... La família Rabaneda se fué a los bungalows y yo me quedé tumbando chellas en la carpa de los hippies con Uri, Sito, Alicia y Rossa mientras esperába a que llegára el Salt-ter.

Everything started after a hard day of work in Roc-Roi where I've been working since I've arrived. We left Sort with Lluis and his family and arrived Millau too late for paddling. Rabaneda's family left to the bungalows and I stayed with the gypssies Uri, Ali, Sito and Rossa while I was waiting for the guys of my local club Salt-ter.

La mañana siguiente eran las preliminares, después de mucho tiempo sin remar en freestyle pasé el corte con 5a posición, mis hermanos Gerd y Ginesta también pasaron sin demasiadas dificultades. Además pudé probar mi nuevo kayak la Molan de Pyranha, el bote va realmente bién, tiene mucho nervio, es muy fácil moverla y aún ser muy corta me sorprendió lo rápida que era en ola!!Mirar el kayak aquí ----> Pyranha Molan

Next morning we had the prelims, after a long time without paddle a freestyle boat I managed to get 5th, my brothers Gerd and Ginesta did a good job and entered In the semifinals without problems. I finally tested my new boat the Molan of Pyranha Kayaks. It works very good, easy to spin, I was impressed about how fast was It thinking how short it Is, the loops are just insane!

Ese mismo dia por la tarde tuvimos las semifinales, Gerd bajó a la 3a posición y yo subí a la 4ta Ginesta también se clasificó para la final en 3a posición.
Same day In the afternoon we had the semifinals, Gerd and Ginesta entered In the third position and me too In forth position.

El domingo disfrutamos de otro gran dia de sol, con mucha gente en el agua y con un nível de kayakistas nunca antes visto en nuestras competiciones de estilo libre, sinceramente me quedé impresionando de como esta andándo la gente, mucho entreno!!

We had the finals on Sunday In a hot day, with a lot of people In the water and with a really good level of kayakers never seen In our freestyle competitions, I was really impressed about how is people paddling right now!! Good job! A lot of training!




Aixas'pro destrozando el rulo!

Mathieu Dumoulin dominó la competición de inicio a fin con unas mangas muy buenas, Adrià consiguió el segundo puesto y Gerd a pesar de alguna manga muy buena quedó 3º, yo por mi parte feliz con la 4ta posición general y 3º en la Copa de España después de 6 meses sin tocar el kayak de rodeo.

Mathieu Dumoulin dominates the competition from the start to the end with some really good rides, Adrià took the silver and Gerd the third place. I was really happy ending 4th after In the global competition and third In the spanish cup after 6 months without touch the freestyle boat.

En chicas ganó Martina Wegman con unas mangas muy buenas en la final, Ginesta no le fué tan bién como en semifinales y terminó quinta.
En los c1 victória de Domen seguido de cerca por Juaniko el pobre Odei sufrió una lesión en el tobillo el dia antes que le imposibilitó participar en la final, seguro que su rival directo, Juaniko tiene algo que ver en el accidente aunqué no lo reconozca!! Ánimo Odei, recuperate pronto cuñaditoo!!!

In K1 Womens Martina Wegman took the first place with some really good rides In the final, Ginesta didn't have her best day and ended 5th.
In C1 Mens Jordi Domenjó ended first with the biggest loops and mcnastys I've seen In Millau!! Pretty impressive as always, Juaniko was second with some good tricks too and unfortunatly Odei had an accident the day before and didn't compete In the finals....

El Salt-ter ganó por clubs, seguido por el Nautico y el AEP. En general un gran fin de semana, con muy buen tiempo, buenos amigos y mucho paddling!!! Gracias a todos!

Salt-ter won the Clubs classification followed by Nautico and Aep. Another great weekend, with good weather, good friends and a lot of paddling! Thank you all for coming!
